About Coach Matt
Matt Lowe is the founder of Process Performance RC (PPRC), a coaching platform dedicated to helping runners train with guided purpose with the intention of performing at their highest potential. With over a decade of experience coaching endurance athletes across the high school, collegiate, and post-collegiate levels, Matt's work centers on developing sustainable performance through structured training, long-term development, and integrated strength training.
Matt's approach to coaching is shaped by both his experience as a competitive athlete and his time working with athletes across multiple disciplines and competitive levels. As an athlete, Matt competed at Brescia University, where he became a Hall of Fame athlete and 2x All-American. His own athletic journey and success, contributed by his former high school and college coaches, built the foundation for a coaching philosophy rooted in consistency, patience, and long-term development.
After transitioning into coaching, Matt quickly developed a reputation for building strong training cultures and helping athletes exceed expectations. During his collegiate coaching career, Matt elevated Saint Martin's University's women's distance and cross country into a conference and regional contender, guiding athletes towards competitive success, earning multiple All-Conference athletes, Conference Champions, All-Region athletes, and National Qualifiers, one becoming an All-American, and multiple school record holders; demonstrating his ability to develop performance across multiple disciplines. Matt's athlete development experience extends beyond collegiate programs. At the high school level, he has coached athletes to winning league, district, and state titles, along with setting school and conference records.
Coaching PHILOSOPHY
Matt believes that successful endurance performance is built through a combination of structured running training, intelligent strength development, and long-term consistency.
His coaching philosophy emphasizes:
- Sustainable training progression rather than short-term breakthroughs
- Integrating strength training to support durability and performance
- Developing athletes through individualized programming
- Building training systems that allow athletes to remain healthy and competitive over time.
Matt prioritizes the process of development. This philosophy is the foundation behind Process Performance RC, where athletes are encouraged to focus on the daily habits and training decisions that ultimately lead to long-term success.
Process Performance RC
Process Performance RC was created to extend Matt's coaching philosophy beyond a single team or location. Through PPRC, Matt provides remote coaching and performance development for runners ranging from recreational athletes pursuing personal goals to competitive post-collegiate runners continuing their careers.
The goal of PPRC is to provide athletes with the structure, guidance, and support needed to train intelligently and perform at their best.
